Sa Pa Street Festival 2013 to come

sa pa 2 (Hanoitourist) - Sa Pa Street Festival 2013 entitled “Colourful Sa Pa”, one of the activities to celebrate the 110thanniversary of Sa Pa tourism (1903-2013), will take place on 1st November 2013 at Sa Pa Town. This is the first time the Street Festival has been held on a large scale and with many special activities.

450 participants of the Sa Pa Street Festival 2013 will include 300 students of The Lao Cai’s College of Culture – Arts and Tourism and 150 art performers working in culture, sports and tourism sector. In addition, in attendance will be a large number of businesses and people of Sa Pa Town.

As scheduled, parade floats decorated in various themes and art performer groups will move along the Sa Pa Town’s main streets and stop at Thac Son – Xuan Vien, Thach Son – Kim Dong, Kim Dong – Ngu Chi Son, Xuan Vien – Ngu Chi Son crossroads to perform.

Sa Pa Street Festival 2013 will be distinguished from other street festivals by its unique arts performances in the parade with various themes such as “Sa Pa flower forests”, “Sa Pa wine”, “H’Mong pan-pipe dancing”, “terrace - field Culture”… Specially, the craftsmen of Sa Pa’s traditional craft villages will introduce their traditional clothes, gastronomy, musical instruments … to tourists.

This festival aims to promote sustainable tourism development, lure tourists to Sa Pa, honor the locality’s intangible cultural heritage, contribute to preserving and upholding national cultural identity; bringing joy to people and tourists on the occasion of the 110th anniversary of Sa Pa tourism./.
